This Grenache wine, named Four Score, is only produced in years of exceptional quality, this fruit was one the best we have seen from these 80 year old vines. The nose is dominant with ripe cherry, berry fruit and a touch of spice. Ripe Berry and cherry flavours but spicy flavours that linger on the palate with a soft tannin structure.

Why Four Score?
They say when a person reaches four score (80) they’re entitled to be set in their ways. Even awkward and difficult if the mood takes them. Well the same can be said for the 80 year old vines that produce our Four Score Grenache. During dry vintages this vineyard’s disposition, is so cantankerous, we feel it needs a good long soak to relax it. Whilst in other years such as this one, it’s so sweet and mellow, that you would swear it’s had medicinal rain! Producing wine of charming warmth, with flavours of spicy cherry and swirling hints of vanilla. Which just goes to show… that with age also comes complexity, maturity and generosity.
